Over a 6 week period starting on May 21st, 16 United States military veterans were trained in various technological repairs of computers, televisions and home appliances. The program was under a State of Illinois grant sponsored by the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO). In conjunction with Best Buy and TEC services, these Veterans attained skills in an area which allows them to become more competitive in the job market. 3 weeks of training were spent at PLCCA’s workforce development center, and 3 weeks at the Best Buy service facility in Woodbridge, Illinois. PLCCA was a driving force for our nations hero’s by providing transportation to Woodbridge, case management, and assistance with job readiness throughout the training program.
